Improve the Look of your printed patient communications

The printed items you put in front of your patients say a lot about your practice. Laser copies and photocopies don’t always impress. POS can save you time and money. Consider the wear and tear on your copier, the maintenance, click rates, toner, and the list goes on.

Best Practices to Improve Patient Collateral

  • Add practice name and logo to every print item.
  • Highlight in a second color important information to call out.
  • Use bold print on headings to make sections stand out.
  • Allow plenty of input space for patients to legibly write COMPLETE information.
  • Put adequate white space between sections to make important blocks of information stand out.
  • Add Non-Discrimination taglines on significant documents, such as consent forms.
  • Add a Form ID and a revision date to make ordering more manageable.
  • Utilize the backside for information when possible.
  • Consolidate any forms/information to reduce patient time completing forms.
  • Include a patient communication preferences section for email, phone and text. This may include gaining consent for the TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act).
  • Use colored paper for patient documents that are frequently referenced to make them stand out.
  • When collating several items together (and not stapling) consider adding a colored sheet between each collated set.
